No chance for a gag has been missed, by the Holmes boys playing with Operation, to the running joke of John's moustache, to Dr Watson's embarassing bodies being naughtily spliced with Sherlock's investigations, to the realisation that Molly had done anything but"proceed". The Empty Hearse might have observed Sherlock Holmes plagued with accusations of showboating and seeking to rein in the smart-arsery, but the show itself has no concerns.

Justifiably, it is the BBC's biggest show-off, and this incident discovered it cheekier than ever before. On this note, the red herrings performed an additional part in The Empty Hearse by minding Sherlock's real time superstar and serving up it to lovers using a cheeky wink. The dream variations of Sherlock shared lingering kisses with Molly and very almost - Moriarty, echoing a million fanfics. The red carpet was rolled out to its return of Sherlock's fan-favourite Belstaff coat.

Largely, The Empty Hearse avoids that. It is both strong all-round entertainment plus also a treasure trove for a committed hardcore. Holmes is asked by the country's Prime Minister to aid in the recovery of a stolen diplomatic letter, which, if published, might lead England into war. An obscure family document containing an enigmatic ritual holds the key to a hidden treasure if Holmes can decipher the mystery. Neville St Clair works in the City of London and is a man of very regular and respectable habits.
